Stockbridge sits about 22 miles from our Dexter office, far enough that a little planning goes a long way. This page lays out the route, the Stockbridge schools your children may attend, and what to expect at a first visit, so the trip is easy to plan.
At Dexter Orthodontics, we welcome patients from Stockbridge and the surrounding area. Dr. Mary Beth Moenssen and Dr. Brandon Shoukri treat patients at our Dexter office, roughly 36 minutes from the village without traffic.
Our office at 7200 Dan Hoey Road, Suite B, in Dexter is about 22 miles from downtown Stockbridge, roughly a 36-minute drive without traffic. Most of the trip is on just a few roads: M-52 toward Chelsea, North Territorial Road, and Dexter-Pinckney Road.
From Stockbridge, take M-52 toward Chelsea and turn onto North Territorial Road. Follow it east to Dexter-Pinckney Road, then head south into Dexter. From downtown, Dexter-Ann Arbor Road carries you the rest of the way, and Dan Hoey Road comes up shortly after. A map app may suggest a different route, so check it before your first visit.
Stockbridge Community Schools is a three-building district, so a child moves through every stage in just a few steps. The American Association of Orthodontists advises a first orthodontic check-up by age 7. Here is where each stage tends to fall:
The district posts a calendar online, which makes it easy to choose appointment days around breaks and no-school days. Because your drive is longer, we'll walk you through the likely visit schedule before treatment begins, so you can plan around school, work, and sports.
Where a child lands depends on age and growth. Some benefit from Phase 1 Treatment early, some are simply monitored until their permanent teeth are in, and teens and adults decide between Braces and Invisalign with our guidance.
Stockbridge gathers on its historic town square. The Village of Stockbridge's event pages describe A Day in the Village and Art Show, a free family weekend: Friday brings live music, food, games, and fireworks in the park, and Saturday brings the annual 5K, vendors, games, live music, and contests on the town square. The fall Harvest Festival fills Town Hall Square with vendors, a 5K, bands, a magic show, food trucks, a community-wide yard sale, a candy scramble, dance performances, a blacksmith demonstration, hayride shuttles, bonfires, and a tractor show.
Your first visit is a complimentary consultation at our Dexter office. We'll look at your child's growth and bite, tell you whether treatment makes sense now, and give you a cost estimate if it does. The American Association of Orthodontists lists the same basics in its guide to the first appointment: paperwork, an exam, a treatment plan, and a talk about cost.
In many cases we use 3D Scanning rather than impression trays, and Finance & Insurance is easy to discuss before you commit. Ready to start? Schedule a Consultation.
